What are the implications?
Individual solutions to misinformation are easy. However, when it comes to fixing misinformation as an issue itself, things get complicated. First, it's difficult to define misinformation. Does misinformation include opinions? Is misinformation inherently harmful? What about jokes or comedy? What counts as misinformation? Another issue is censorship. Censoring people's ideas and thoughts is a negative thing, and should be avoided at all costs. Then, who is in charge or monitoring misinformation? The people in charge cannot have even a speck of bias, otherwise the wrong things will be removed and censorship could begin. Fixing misinformation is a very slippery slope when it comes to a global issue.
